President - Jeff Cohn, MD, MHCM, connected with Plexus in 2006 when he led the Positive Deviance/MRSA Infection work as Chief Quality Officer at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Jeff subsequently worked as part of the Plexus team supporting change in several other institutions working on reducing healthcare-associated infections. In 2011, Jeff joined the Plexus Board of Trustees and later served as Board Chair.
Prucia Buscell is the Plexus communications director and staff writer. She is the editor of the Institute's newsletter, emerging, and the weekly Thursday Complexity Post and the organizer and host of PlexusCalls. Before coming to Plexus, Prucia was a newspaper reporter and freelance writer.
Rebecca Leahy coordinates all online communications. You'll find Rebecca supporting and maintaining the operation of the Learning Networks, updating and maintaining the Institute's database and website. She also helps get ready for conferences, does web research on foundation opportunities and helps with other interesting Institute projects.
Susan Doherty joined Plexus Institute in 2009 and assists with day-to-day management as well as maintaining blogs and other social media outlets. Prior to coming to Plexus, Susan worked as a project manager for a consulting firm and coordinator for PBS teacher outreach programs.
Jane Henry is the Plexus Institute Financial Manager managing the day to day financial and bookkeeping requirements.
Shawn Hoke works with Plexus as a Project Manager and Proposal Writer. He has a decade of experience managing research projects as the Senior Program Manager for the IU Center for Health Services and Outcomes Research at the Regenstrief Institute. During this time, he has expertly handled all aspects of project management from seeking funding, building proposals, facilitating submissions, handling regulatory demands, supervising staff, establishing community relationships, communicating with partners and funding agencies, and drafting manuscripts.
Lisa Kimball, PhD, in addition to serving on the Board, Lisa served as Plexus’ President for 3 years. She continues to serve Plexus as Chair, Learning Programs. She is an entrepreneur with more than 30 years experience as an organizational consultant with business, government and non profit organizations. She earned her doctorate in educational psychology, cognition and learning conducting research on how senior executives use system thinking.
Andrew Pyle, Plexus Fellow, recently graduated from the Applied Communication Studies Master’s program at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. The culmination of his MA work was a study examining the communication experiences of Public Information Officers in the Unified Command center in Houma, Louisiana during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. Andrew wants to examine effective crisis communication practices in international contexts and is interested in the intersection of crisis communication and complexity.
Joelle Everett, facilitator, Health Quality call series, is a consultant in innovation and applied imagination. Joelle facilitates transformational change for diverse clients from business, nonprofit and health care sectors, and for individuals. She is a Plexus coach for the Positive Deviance MRSA initiative.
Carol Geary, facilitator, Nursing Network call series, is a a PhD student in nursing at University of Nebraska Medical Center where she is studying health systems. Her dissertation will view care transitions through a complexity lens.
