Bruce J. West
Bruce West, Ph.D. is Chief Scientist in the Mathematical and Information Sciences Directorate at the Army Research Office. He is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Physiological Society, the American Geophysical Union, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Army Research Laboratory. Previously, Dr. West was a research scientist at La Jolla Institute and a University Professor of Physics at the University of North Texas. In each of these incarnations he has had an abiding interest in the application of nonlinear dynamics, systems theory, and complexity theory to biomedical and social phenomena. He has published eight books and over 250 articles in these areas and is considered a founder of fractal physiology.
