Nursing schools face faculty shortage

Polly Bednash of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) explains nurses are the oldest workforce in the nation, and many are about to retire. Further, faculty to teach new nurses will be in short supply because most nursing schools want faculty with doctoral degrees. Of the three million nurses in the country, fewer than one percent have doctorates.
