Lisa Kimball has been invited to join the Pratt Design Incubator for sustainable innovation as a mentor. Its mission is to create impact through sustainable business incubation. Since its inception, the Incubator has supported the launch of 23 companies. For example, Honu Pack Systems is developing a modular backpack concept for medical field work in remote areas. In 2009, the Pratt Design Incubator partnered with the home furnishing company west elm to design and produce a line of sustainable home office furniture. Four designers from the incubator and one creative arts therapist traveled together to Haiti to work with the Diaspora Community Services – Centre Medico Social du Port au Prince. The clinic has become a hub for the community of Avenue Poupelard, one of the poorest areas in the city.
