The Institute of Medicine Cites $750 Billion in Unnecessary Healthcare Spending

The IOM report out last week, based on 2010 data, says U.S. healthcare system wastes money in myriad ways ranging from inefficient and unnecessary services to excess administrative costs. The report documents complicated and expensive end of life care, and a shortage of preventive care.
