The vast majority of CEOs anticipate even greater complexity in the future, and more than half doubt their ability to manage it. - IBM 2010 CEO study

Transcending Complexity: A Conversation With Women Leaders

"Clearly leadership has to do with the sustaining of creative tension in organizations. Creative tension is derived through strategic imbalance, which occurs when operating at the limits of organizational consensus or the boundaries of the organization. Innovation takes place on the edges of the organization where the potential for far-from-equilibrium conditions is optimal." -Brenda Zimmerman

We've been having a fascinating and valuable conversation about leading in complex times and we're inviting you to join us!

Plexus Institute is a rich social network of people and organizations intrigued with how insights from the new science of complexity might apply to a wide range of challenges, including the challenges facing today's leaders.

Join us to talk about how leaders - particularly women leaders – are grappling with increased complexity in their organizations and the systems they need to influence.

On Friday, January 25 8:30-11:30am we're inviting a small group of our women colleagues to join us for breakfast and focused conversation to explore ideas about what it takes to be a more effective leader now. We'll share some of the key insights emerging from the complexity field and use some of our favorite 'liberating structures' methods to engage in fun and productive dialogue.

Our intention is to create an experience where you can:

· Participate in a new, unfamiliar conversation about successfully leading in the face of complexity

· Articulate where you are grounded and where you need more lift

· Make the invisible visible

· Access more confidence in yourself as a leader

· Create a new network of others who are "leading at the same altitude"

· Get refreshed, renewed, reenergized

Please R.S.V.P. so we know who's coming. Register online. We're asking participants to contribute $75 to cover costs of the event.

Your hosts Sharon Benjamin, Lisa Kimball, Trish Silber and Nedra Weinstein have created a community of practice within the Plexus Institute to explore the intersections of leadership and complexity.
